Recommendations for Kanoodle’s System

For those of you that have a Kanoodle account, you made be aware of the many restrictions that the system has. Even though they changed their brand to Pluse360, Kanoodle’s back end system still has a far way to go. My representative asked me for suggestions that would improve their system. Here are a few enhancements that would drastically or both advertisers and publishers.

Conversion tracking
The ability to track on the site or network level how many leads, sign-ups or actions where completed.

Impressions

Ad rotation
Even has this capability now. Ad rotation is an essential part of running a successful campaign.

More detail reporting.
Currently if you run a contextual campaign in Kanoodle, you don’t know specifically which sites or what sections of that site your ads appear on. Adsonar has a good way of organizing . Kanoodle could mimic this organizational structure to give advertiser more control over where their ads appear.

Kanoodle has heard some of the above suggestion thousands of times and apparently they are going to accommodate some of the above suggestions. Till then we’ll have to deal with the inefficiencies.

Yahoo Ad Optimization feature needs update

The ability to have in is one of the of the new Yahoo Panama, however Yahoo didn’t include into their ad statistics. The fields Yahoo currently reports on are:

  • Ad Name
  • Editorial Status
  • Display Rate (%)
  • Quality Index
  • Impressions
  • CTR (%)
  • Clicks

Although you can tell which message is more appealing to your audience, has a , you don’t know if that message is costing you more that another message with a lower click through rate. I would advise advertisers to test a similar message in first, prior to deleting the ads with a lower . Another work around would be to create a duplicate with all the same keywords and bids only changing the ads. This isn’t the most efficient method, but it will work.

I made this know to our Yahoo representative and hopefully Yahoo pushes into their next round of upgrades.

Importing Google Campaign into Panama Tutorial

into the new is quick and easy, but unfortunately Yahoo doesn’t have any instructions on how to do this. So here’s a quick tutorial on how to do it.

  • Download your entire Google account using the .
  • Open up the file in Excel and delete all campaigns except the one(s) that you want to import.
  • Remove all negative keywords from the campaign file.
  • Make sure that you don’t have any duplicate keywords in any adgroup.
  • Make sure that your bids are at least .10 cents.
  • If you sorted the columns make sure that you re-sort the columns in the following order.
  • Campaign, Adgroup, Ad, Keyword. You have to sort the columns this way, because reads the file from top to bottom. If it doesn’t create the campaign first it won’t know where to put the keywords for that campaign.
  • After you format your Google campaign file, you can convert it with the Yahoo tool.
  • In your Yahoo Account Click on the Campaigns tab. Then click on the import link.
  • Under the header you’ll want to select .
  • Now you’ll select your revised Adwords campaign file located on your local computer.
  • Make sure you select a name for the campaign file them click convert.
  • The conversion will take a few seconds.
  • Once the conversion is complete download the converted file.

Now you’re going to import this converted file into . To do this click on the import campaigns tab, find the file on your local computer and them click upload.

If you get errors during the import, download the errors file and address the errors. The errors are usually self explanatory.
